  • 60 g granulated sugar
  • 220 g cold unsalted butter (cut into cubes)
  • 1 kg apples (Pink Lady, Royal Gala, or Fuji)
  • 190 g brown sugar
  • 1¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • Vanilla ice cream for serving
  • 1¼ tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2½ tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add water until combined. Chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Make the filling: Slice apples and cook with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and water until tender.
  3. Roll out the dough: Divide chilled dough; roll out one half for the bottom crust and place in a pie dish.
