  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 4 ½5 cups (540600 g) all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • ½ cup mashed banana (about 1 large banana)
  • 4 Tablespoons (1/2 stick, 57 g) unsalted butter (very soft)
  • ½ cup (107 g) packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 large bananas (thinly sliced)
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) heavy cream (slightly warmed)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened to room temperature)
  • 4 tablespoons (57 g) unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 ½ cups (170 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm milk until lukewarm (120-130°F) and mix with melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir in instant yeast and let froth for 5 minutes.
  2. Combine flour and salt in another bowl, then gradually mix into wet ingredients. Knead until smooth (about 8-10 minutes).
  3. Let dough rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  4. Prepare filling by mixing softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Roll out dough, spread filling, and layer sliced bananas.
  5. Roll tightly, cut into 12 pieces, and place in a greased baking dish to rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Whip together cream cheese frosting ingredients and spread over warm rolls.
