  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (non-alcoholic)
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices turkey bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs.
  5. Add BBQ sauce and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  6. Toast sub rolls in the oven for about 5 minutes.
  7. Assemble each sub with meatballs, extra sauce, cheddar cheese, and turkey bacon.
  8. Return to oven for an additional 2-3 minutes to melt cheese.
  9. Serve immediately with extra BBQ sauce for dipping.
