  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup hot pepper jelly
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, blend cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  2. Mix in shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
  3. Add flour and salt; mix until a cohesive dough forms.
  4. Wrap the dough and chill for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the baking sheet.
  7. Use your thumb to create an indentation in each ball.
  8. Fill each indent with about 1/2 teaspoon of hot pepper jelly.
  9. Bake for 13–15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Cool slightly before garnishing with fresh herbs, if desired.
