  • 3 pounds beef stew meat (or lamb)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 5 carrots (peeled and cut into chunks)

  3. Sear the seasoned meat until browned on all sides.
  4. Gradually stir in beef broth, scraping up any bits from the pot.
  5. Add carrots and bay leaves; bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for about 45 minutes.
  7. Stir in frozen peas during the last five minutes.
  8. Serve hot alongside fluffy mashed potatoes.
