Ingredients

  • 15.25 ounces chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • butter or non-stick spray for the pan
  • 2 pounds vanilla almond bark
  • 34 pectin-based gummy candies
  • candy eyes
  • orange food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven and prepare your baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine chocolate cake mix, melted butter, eggs, and water. Mix until smooth.
  3. Bake according to package directions and let cool completely.
  4. Beat cream cheese until fluffy in another bowl; crumble cooled cake into the cream cheese and mix until combined.
  5. Form mixture into balls using a cookie scoop; place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and chill for at least 2 hours.
  6. Melt almond bark over low heat or in the microwave until smooth.
  7. Dip each chilled cake ball into the melted almond bark using two forks; allow excess to drip off.
  8. Decorate with gummy candies and candy eyes while still warm; pipe orange almond bark for spikes if desired.
  9. Chill again until set.
