Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces linguine or fettuccine
  • 1/2 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 pound chicken sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning, divided
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 small yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (for garnish)
  • Sliced green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. Toss shrimp and chicken with half the Cajun seasoning. In a skillet over medium-high heat, sauté the chicken until golden brown (4–5 minutes), then set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, cook shrimp until pink (2–3 minutes per side), then add the sausage and cook until browned.
  4. Sauté bell peppers and onion in olive oil until softened (4–5 minutes).
  5. Make the sauce by melting butter in the skillet, whisking in flour to create a roux. Gradually add chicken broth and cream while whisking until smooth.
  6. Stir in remaining Cajun seasoning and simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened.
  7. Combine all proteins and sautéed veggies with the sauce; toss to coat pasta evenly before serving.
