  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 10 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1/2 tsp dried)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • 1/2 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 2 large eggs, divided
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and olive oil. Add diced onion and cook until soft.
  3. Stir in garlic and mushrooms; sauté until browned and moisture evaporates.
  4. Season with thyme, salt, and pepper. If using apple vinegar, add it here.
  5. Mix in cream cheese and Parmesan until smooth; fold in one beaten egg.
  6. Unroll puff pastry on a floured surface; cut diagonal strips along the sides.
  7. Spoon filling down the center; fold over ends and braid the strips over the filling.
  8. Transfer to a baking tray lined with parchment paper and brush with remaining egg.
  9. Bake for 20–22 minutes until golden brown.
